CJCC Releases Report Analyzing How Our Community Can Better Serve Individuals with Mental Illnesses with Criminal Justice Involvement

Bernalillo County, through its participation in the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, produced a detailed report titled “Analysis of Bernalillo County’s System for Serving People with Mental Illnesses and Criminal Justice Involvement.” The report represents a continuation of this community’s commitment as memorialized in the 2015 Stepping Up resolution.

CJCC Releases Pretrial Justice System Study Results

Efforts to improve the pretrial justice system while protecting public safety are working in Bernalillo County, according to a study released Nov. 22.

Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Strategic Plan 2019-2020

At its November 21, 2019 meeting, the members of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council adopted its first official Strategic Plan. This milestone document is the result of multiple months of one-on-one engagements and group meetings with CJCC members, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to collect input and ideas.

Second Judicial District Court

The Second Judicial District Court is the largest court of original jurisdiction in the State of New Mexico. The building is located on 400 Lomas Blvd NW, Albuquerque New Mexico.

Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court

The Metropolitan Courthouse is a courthouse in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, housing the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court. The building is located on the northwest corner of 4th Street and Lomas Boulevard in an area known as the Courthouse District.

Bernalillo County Resource Re-Entry Center

The Resource Re-Entry Center program provides resources to individuals who have been released from the Metropolitan Detention Center for better transition into the community. It is open 24/7 and is located at 401 Roma Ave NW in Albuquerque New Mexico.

Bernalillo County Second Judicial District Attorney's Office

The role of Bernalillo County District Attorney’s office is to manage the prosecutor's office, investigate alleged crimes in cooperation with law enforcement, and file criminal charges or bringing evidence before the Grand Jury. It is located at 520 Lomas Blvd NW, Albuquerque New Mexico.

Bernalillo County Regional Administrator of New Mexico Probation and Parole

Officers of the New Mexico Corrections Department supervise both people on probation and those on parole. They assess the risk that each offender poses and develops a case plan to manage their cases and help to integrate back into society. It is located at 111 Gold Ave SE, Albuquerque New Mexico.

New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association

The NMCDLA is the single most important organization for any legal professional involved in the defense of the accused in the New Mexico criminal justice system. It is located in Santa Fe New Mexico.

Explore with your senses, igniting your sense of wonder as you experience yourself as part of the natural environment. Class size is limited to adhere to COVID-Safe practices and public health order guidelines.     The Bernalillo County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council is to serve as the forum concerning the law, the legal system, and the administration of justice, which includes identifying issues and their solutions, proposing actions, and facilitating cooperation that will enhance public safety and reduce crime in Bernalillo County, advance the fair and timely disposition of cases, maximize the efficient use of criminal justice resources, and ensure justice and improved outcomes for those accused of crimes and the victims of crimes.
