  • This presentation will provide an overview of the book The Other Slavery, The Uncovered Story of Indian Enslavement in America by Andrés Reséndez. An important book that changes what we thought we knew about the colonization of the New World, focusing on the enslavement of Native Americans in Latin and Central America and in the Indies, and into the 19th century especially in New Mexico and California. The presentation will be followed by small group discussions that engage participants in sharing their own experiences and perspectives and provoke deeper understanding.
