County Clerk

Voters can update their registration information in the following ways:

  • Visiting the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at One Civic Plaza NW, 6th Floor, Albuquerque, NM  87102.
  • Online, through the Secretary of State's Office
  • Through County Clerks' offices statewide.
  • Through a third-party registrant agent.
  • At a state Motor Vehicle Department office, Human Services Department office, public libraries, colleges, universities, and at organized voter registration drives.

You may also request an application for voter registration be sent to you by emailing clerk@bernco.gov, by calling (505) 468-1291 and selecting the Voter Registration option, or sending a letter to: Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office, One Civic Plaza NW, Room 6022, Albuquerque, NM 87102.

In order to be eligible to vote in an election, the County Clerk’s Office must receive the voter registration update no later than 5 p.m. on the 28th day before an election. However, it is now possible to update your voter registration before you vote during early voting periods*. This includes in-person absentee voting at the Clerk’s Annex, 1500 Lomas NW, Albuquerque and during early voting at early voting centers across Bernalillo County.

*Please note that during Early Voting for the Primary Election on June 2, 2020, voters may not change their party affiliation nor select a party. The deadline to change or select a party to vote in the Primary is May 5, 2020.
