Bernalillo County Assessor Mails out Notice of Value Statements for Business Personal Property and Livestock

On May 1, the Bernalillo County Assessor’s Office sent out 2019 notice of value (NOV) statements to business owners regarding their business personal property, and to owners of livestock. The notice of value will inform recipients of the assessed value of their personal property as of Jan 1. While this is not a bill, the Bernalillo County treasurer will use the listed values to calculate property tax bills that will be mailed to property owners in November later this year.

If a property owner disagrees with the county assessor’s valuation on their business personal property or livestock, they will have until Thursday, May 30 to file a protest form with the county Assessor’s Office. A protest form can be found online on the assessor’s website at www.bernco.gov/assessor, or in person at our office located at 501 Tijeras Ave NW.

“Our experienced business personal property staff, and staff of the agricultural department, are ready to assist with your questions while delivering excellent customer service whether that be in person, by phone or online,” Assessor Tanya R. Giddings says.

Property owners who have questions or need assistance can contact the Assessor’s Office at (505) 222-3700. Additional information can also be found on the assessor’s website, www.bernco.gov/assessor.
