BernCo Animal Care and Resource Center is Currently CLOSED to the Public

Beginning Monday, Nov. 16, we are hosting adoptions by appointment only. BCACS is following the governor’s order by requiring all visitors, including children, to wear a mask while at the shelter. Those not wearing a mask will not be allowed to keep their appointment. Bernalillo County's lost and adoptable pets are our highest priority.

Animal services officers will be responding to emergencies and threats to public health and safety.

Citizens finding stray animals are asked to contact the enforcement line and not bring animals to the shelter as staffing levels are reduced.

BCACS is asking for the public to be patient during this time as staff are working diligently to protect animals in our care and respond to the public’s requests.
