BernCo Fire Department Assists with COVID-19 Testing, Assessments and Mitigation at Adult Care Facilities in State

The Bernalillo County Fire Department (BCFD) is tasked statewide with assessing and mitigating the coronavirus (COVID-19) impact at long-term adult care healthcare facilities all over New Mexico. This week another 22 additional facilities have been added to the list.

Fire Chief Perez Recognizes Heroic Citizen Al Gameson

At its Aug. 20, 2019, administrative meeting the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners and Bernalillo County Fire Chief Greg Perez, recognized Al Gameson for his heroic actions on June 13, 2019. Mr. Gameson witnessed a motor vehicle crash on 4th St. in Albuquerque that left the motorist trapped in the vehicle and a bicyclist trapped underneath the vehicle.

Bernalillo County Fire Department Unveils State of the Art Fire Engines

On March 21, 2019, the Bernalillo County Fire Department dedicated two new fire engines at a traditional push-in ceremony at Bernalillo County Fire Station 32. The engines are state-of-the-art with the latest in safety technology including the clean cab concept which allows firefighters to stow their gear during fire calls keeping fire personnel free of harmful cancer-causing carcinogens which may be attached to bunker gear and equipment.
