BernCo Commission Elects New Chair and Vice Chair

District 4 Commissioner Lonnie Talbert is the new chair of the Bernalillo County Commission.

District 5 Commissioner Charlene Pyskoty is the new vice chair.

Talbert and Pyskoty will serve in their respective leadership capacities for the 2020 calendar year.

County Rules of Procedure say that the County Commission must select a chair and vice chair during its first regular meeting in January.

During 2019, District 3 Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins served as chair and District 1 Commissioner Debbie O’Malley served as vice chair.

Talbert was elected on a 3 to 2 vote with Commissioners O’Malley and Collie against.

Pyskoty was elected on a 4 to 1 vote with Commissioner O’Malley voting against.
