The Treasurer’s Office has a variety of methods available for county property owners to pay their taxes.

  • Monthly Property Tax Payment: The Office of the Treasurer offers property owners the option of making monthly payments. This option is not available if taxes are escrowed for the property owners and are included in the property owner’s monthly mortgage payment.
  • Automatic Tax Bill Payment: By using this option, your Bernalillo County property tax payment will automatically be deducted from the U.S. checking or savings account you designate. Authorized half-payments will be deducted in December and May; full-year payments will be deducted in December. You will have time to review your tax bill before the amount owed is deducted from your account. The Office of the Treasurer must be notified in writing at least 30 days prior to the scheduled payment date to stop the automatic payment. All prior taxes must be paid in full before applying for an automatic tax bill payment option.
  • Semi-Annual Tax Payment: this is the standard way of paying property taxes. First half tax payment is due November 10 of each year and becomes delinquent if not paid by December 10 of each year. Second half tax payment is due April 10 of each year and becomes delinquent after May 10 of each year.

Cash, checks, credit and debit cards are accepted in person at the Treasurer’s Office; credit cards and e-checks are accepted online. A convenience fee is charged by the third-party payment processing company when taxes are paid with a credit card, debit card, or e-checks.

There are several ways to make this semi-annual payment.
