Educators Maggie Stein and Amelia Thompson will feature four non-releasable Avian Ambassadors live on the Zoom event as they explain Hawk's Aloft's mission and share ways we can all be good humans during nesting season! They will also share some of the recent highlights of their Raptor Rescue efforts. Bernalillo County is now accepting online applications for utility and rental assistance through the Bernalillo County Relief of Emergency Needs for Tenants (RENT) assistance program. Paper applications are also being accepted. Available funds cover rent and renters’ utility payments, which will be applied towards past due rent and utilities due starting April 2020 through December 2021, for up to six months of rental and utility assistance payments, but no more than $10,000 for rent and/or utilities. Mortgage payments nor mortgage owners’ utilities are covered.
Bernalillo County continues to accept donations in a special account through the Bernalillo County quality of life fund which allows donors to contribute to a program that offers families experiencing homelessness temporary hotel housing.

County Commissioner Steven Michael Quezada and City Councilor Klarissa Pena have teamed up with their respective elected bodies including the MRCOG, AMAFCA, MRGCD, ABCWUA, BCSO, APD, The SOMOS UNIDOS Foundation, CNM, PNM APS, NMED, NMDOT, and the West Central Development Community Group to create a strong alliance to help eliminate the problem.
