BernCo Commission Seeks Nominations for Open Legislative Seat

The Bernalillo County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications from individuals interested in filling the vacant District 27 seat of the New Mexico House of Representatives.

The commission will appoint a replacement for Larry Larrañaga who chose not to run for re-election following the June primary.

Nominations from interested individuals in Bernalillo County will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at 5 p.m. Applicants should submit a cover letter and résumé to the Bernalillo County Manager’s Office, Attention: Julie Morgas Baca, County Manager, Suite 10111, 1 Civic Plaza, NW, Albuquerque, NM, 87102 or via email to: manager@bernco.gov.

Interested persons must be at least 21 years old and live within the boundaries of House District 27.

The New Mexico House of Representatives District 27 is located in the northeast heights of the City of Albuquerque, in Bernalillo County. A map of District 27 is located here on the New Mexico Legislature’s website.

The Board of County Commissioners will address the District 27 replacement at the administrative meeting on either Oct. 23 or Nov. 13.
