On Oct. 15 the Bernalillo County Commission approved the minimum wage cost of living increase from $9.05 to $9.20 per hour. The increase will take effect Jan. 1, 2020.

Massive Behavioral Health Training and Education Efforts Launched by Bernalillo County

Sadly, New Mexico has some of the highest rates of mental illness and substance abuse in the nation- highlighting the need for a continuum of behavioral health care. In 2015 Bernalillo County created the Behavioral Health Initiative to build that system of care, to date, the BHI has created 19 programs.

    • The BernCo Animal Care and Resource Center has been awarded a grant to host a “Dogs Playing for Life” training seminar at the center. It will take place from Friday, Dec. 13 through Monday, Dec. 16, 2019. Due to the training, the BernCo Animal Care and Resource Center will be closed to the public on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14.
