County Commission Approves New Bernalillo County Fire Department Union Contract

The Bernalillo County Commission has approved a new contract with the Albuquerque Area Firefighters Local 244, Bernalillo County chapter. The agreement includes pay increases of 3 percent in fiscal year 2019 and 3 percent in fiscal year 2020. Also included in the agreement is a one-time payout of $1,000 to every union member.

The Bernalillo County Commission approved the county biennial budget for fiscal years 2019 and 2020 at its administrative meeting on April 10, 2018.

After Five Years, County Employees Receive 3 Percent Cost of Living Increase

After a five-year span with no salary increases, Bernalillo County is now able to offer pay increases to its non-union employees. County Manager Julie Morgas Baca has announced that all non-union county employees will receive a 3 percent cost of living allowance and a one-time payout of $1,000.
