Movies in the Parking Lot, Showing Friday Night Fright

Bernalillo County – Bernalillo County’s popular Movies in the Parking Lot series is showing a special fall season of movies this October, with spooky movies at the Isleta Amphitheater, 5601 University Boulevard.

Each film is held on Friday, starting at 7:30 p.m., and gates open at 5:30 p.m. first come, first served. Food trucks will be onsite and outside food and drink is permitted, but no alcohol, grills or discos are allowed.

Movies in the Parking Lot continues the drive-in style movie format. Vehicles will be assigned a parking space, with a front porch area for seating; bring your own chairs. Masks are required to be worn outside of vehicles.

The October lineup will be:

  • Oct. 9: The Goonies
  • Oct. 16: A Nightmare on Elm Street
  • Oct. 23: It
  • Oct. 30: Halloween (2018)

Movies in the Park is free of charge but non-perishable food donations to the Roadrunner Food Bank are requested. Movies subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. For more information, please visit www.bernco.gov/mitp.

This incredible two-hour workshop includes training about thunderstorms, flash floods, downburst winds, tornadoes, and more. This event is part of the volunteer SKYWARN weather spotters and volunteers training for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS). Registration closes May 21.
