Attend the Alameda Drain Trail and Public Art Dedication on Aug. 1

Commissioner Debbie O'Malley and the Bernalillo County Arts Board invite you to the Alameda Drain Trail and Public Art Dedication on Aug. 1, 2019.

Join us for a dedication of public art along the Alameda Drain Trail. The newly renovated trail spans one mile on north 2nd street between Montano and Osuna. The pedestrian and bicycle trails are enhanced by permanent sculptures installed along the route. By the new year, there will be a total of five “Outposts” sculptures along the trail.

Join us for a fun-filled morning with coffee, fresh-baked scones, and a trolley ride of the trail!

Thursday, August 1, 9:15 a.m. Parking available at Dollar General on Montano, west of 2nd Street.

Event located at the corner of Montano and 2nd Street.

  • Master composter, John Zarola, will share how raised garden beds in the high desert present many useful management options for home gardeners. The class topics include bed set-up and sheet composting for soil fertility as well as making soil amendments, the types of mulches and which irrigation methods are well-suited for raised beds.
