Youth Programs

  • Before School
    The before school program is on a first-come first-served basis and runs Monday - Friday. The fee is now $280 per child or $90 for nine weeks.

  • After School
    The after school program is on a first-come first-served basis and runs Monday - Friday. The fee is now $425 per child or $135 for nine weeks.

  • Head Start Pre School
     Ages 3 - 5 (505) 212-7318.

  • Youth Karate Tuesday & Thursday 5 – 6 p.m.
     
  • Summer Recreation
    The summer program is seven weeks long and for ages 5-14. The hours are 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. for $280. The cost drops to $160 for the summer after the fourth week of the program.

  • Summer Lunch Program
    The Bernalillo County’s Office of Health and Social Services will be providing free and nutritious meals during the summer starting May 29, 2019, for children and teens one- to 18-years-old. No registration is required in order to receive a meal. Bernalillo County is committed to supporting our community in partnership with the state Children, Youth and Families Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. View more information on the summer lunch program page.

  • A delightful workshop that promises to inspire tending to beneficial insects and pollinators so that they can thrive in your yard. Learn early season strategies like knowing what to plant when managing spring yard preparations in a way that fosters a healthy environment. Plus, hear what’s happening in the current legislative session towards helping the survival of these vital insects. Presenters are Anita Amstutz, founder of the non-profit, Think Like a Bee, and Mary Jo Picha, BernCo master naturalist.

  • Master composter, John Zarola, will share how raised garden beds in the high desert present many useful management options for home gardeners. The class topics include bed set-up and sheet composting for soil fertility as well as making soil amendments, the types of mulches and which irrigation methods are well-suited for raised beds.
