Expanded Early Voting Begins Tomorrow

10/16/2020

Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover announces the beginning of expanded early voting and same day registration for the 2020 General Election.

“Starting tomorrow and continuing through Oct. 31, 18 voting convenience centers will be open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” says Clerk Linda Stover. “Voters may cast a ballot in-person or hand deliver their completed absentee ballot. There is also same day registration at 7 of these locations. Visit BerncoVotes.org for details.”

Eighteen early voting convenience centers will be open Oct. 17-31, 2020. Most locations are open Mon. to Sat., 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The election is being conducted in accordance with a state public health emergency order designed to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 through in-person voting. Poll workers are wearing personal protective equipment and all voters must wear a mask and comply with social distancing protocols.

Absentee voters are urged to complete their ballot according to the instructions and return by mail or hand delivery as soon as possible. Absentee ballots may be hand delivered to any voting convenience center. There is also an outdoor absentee ballot drop box outside One Civic Plaza at 5th and Marquette available Mon. to Fri. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The deadline for voters to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 20. The final day to mail a completed absentee ballot is Oct. 27. After that hand delivery is recommended.

It is not too late to register to vote and cast a ballot in the 2020 election. Same day registration is available at 7 early voting convenience centers.
