12/09/2019

Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover reminds voters that Election Day for the Albuquerque Runoff is tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019. There will be 10 Voting Convenience Centers open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“Early voting in the runoff finished strong,” says Clerk Linda Stover. “We may not hit the vote totals we saw in these districts during the regular local election, but with everyone’s best efforts we may get close.”

There are 44,173 registered voters in city council district 2; and 40,172 in district 4. At the close of early voting Saturday, Dec. 7, 9,423 ballots had been cast (9,051 early voting, 372 absentee). During the regular local election, a total of 22,003 ballots were cast in districts 2 and 4 with 44.9% of citizens voting early and 46.24% voting on Election Day.

The Runoff Election for City Council Districts 2 and 4 was required under the Top-Two Runoff Election rule which requires candidates for Albuquerque City Council to receive fifty percent or more of the votes cast for the office in question. The District 2 candidates are Isaac Benton and Zackary Quintero. The District 4 candidates are Brook Bassan and Ane Romero.
