Shelter Wish List 

Below are some of the items we'd love to have around at our new Animal Care and Resource Center.

The Bernalillo County Animal Care and Resource Center is located at 3001 2nd St. SW.

Our hours are Tuesday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
and our pet viewing hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Towels
  • Bowls—especially ceramic or difficult to tip over bowls
  • Dog food (wet in particular)
  • Cat food (wet in particular)
  • Kiddie pool
  • Kongs---any are great, but especially wobblers and goodie bones for kennel enrichment
  • HyperPet tough plush dog toys
  • Benebones
  • Tennis balls
  • Dog treats….any kind! We are particularly fond of high value soft treats such as natural balance logs that can be cut up
  • Stuffed animals
  • Gift cards to pet stores*……these especially allow us to select items specific to the animals in our care, such as a particular diet for a bird or bedding for a ferret or substrate in a terrarium
  • X-pens
  • Crates (especially top loading hard, plastic crates)
  • Baby gates
  • Litterboxes
  • Jars of baby food (meat only, please!)
  • Jars of peanut butter
  • Pooper scoopers
  • Puppy pads
  • Water-bottle feeders
  • Cat toys (mice, feather toys)
  • Cat beds
  • Dog Kurunda beds
  • Aquariums
  • Terrariums
  • Bird cages
  • Dog and cat grooming brushes
  • Dog and cat/rabbit nail clippers
  • Carpet squares
  • Food puzzles
  • Sensible dog harnesses, especially larger sizes
