Animal Care Center to be Closed Friday Dec. 13 and Saturday Dec. 14 for Staff Training

Animal Care and Resource Center is excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant to host “Dogs Playing for Life” training at our shelter.

The training will take place from Friday Dec.13 through Monday Dec. 16.

Due to the training, the Animal Care and Resource Center will be closed to the public on Friday Dec. 13 and Saturday Dec. 14.

Dogs Playing for Life (DPFL) is a foundation which works with shelters to implement doggie playgroups which have been proven to help with socializing, reducing anxiety, and overall enrichment of dogs in a shelter environment. Doggie play groups provide both mental and physical stimulation for dogs in the shelter. The play groups help staff to get to know the dogs better, making it easier to match dogs with their potential adopters.

DPFL has worked with numerous shelters throughout the United States including the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care & Control, Maricopa County Animal Services, The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas and Dallas Animal Services.
