    Bernalillo County Animal Care Services is proud to introduce director Misha Goodman.

    Misha comes to Bernalillo County from Iowa City, Iowa where she served as the director of Iowa City Animal Services for the past 21 years. Prior to that, Misha worked for the City of Los Angeles Animal Regulation Department in various positions for 10 years.The list of her leadership, accomplishments and certifications is extensive and will serve the county well.

    That list includes President, Past President and Vice President of the National Animal Control Association (NACA) from 2004-2014. She has provided ongoing leadership for this national organization providing training and certification for animal control officers and other personnel involved in animal care, sheltering and enforcement. Ms. Goodman created the NACA Disaster Database, a national database of trained animal services personnel qualified to provide disaster response services, developed an Animal Handling, Behavior and 

    Capture Course for emergency responders and volunteers, plus she revised and developed Level I, II and IV course materials for the NACA training academies.Ms. Goodman’s years of experience and knowledge in the animal care field will be of tremendous value to Bernalillo County residents and animals alike.
