Addiction And Treatment Services

Bernalillo County’s Department of Substance Abuse Programs (DSAP) Addiction Treatment Program (ATP) provides evidence-based addiction treatment services at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) for clients who have been identified as having addiction treatment needs while they are incarcerated there.

The ATP program is an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) level III.3, clinically-managed jail-based program. ATP uses evidence-based therapy and Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) curricula in conjunction with relapse prevention planning, psycho-educational programming and living skills groups.

Each ATP participant develops a recovery and after-care service plan before completion of the ATP program. ATP offers gender-specific groups for men and women and DWI prevention education, among other topics.
