BernCo Commissioners Recognize Cub Scout Pack 85

02/12/2019

At its Feb. 12 administrative meeting the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners recognized the outstanding effort and dedication to citizenship of Cub Scout Pack 85 for earning their "Building a Better World" badge.

As a member pack of the Cub Scouts of America, you have directly and substantially contributed towards practicing citizenship the local, national and world levels. This badge recognizes the accomplishments of Cub Scout Pack 85, located on Kirtland Air Force Base.

In addition, Pack 85 was the first Cub Scout pack in New Mexico to allow girls to participate. Pack 85 has a den of five to 10 girls who participate and earn badges and ribbons in the same manner as the boys. Two Pack 85 girls who have earned their Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouts, will now be moving on to join the Scouting BSA Program.

Along with these young boys and girls being recognized for the “Building a Better World” badge, Bernalillo County would also like to recognize pack leaders Jim and Wendy Jagodzinski, and Aaron Spaulding for their dedication to the Cub Scouts and Pack 85.

Thank you for your service to the kids of Bernalillo County and thank you for helping these scouts achieve a milestone in scouting.
