Paradise Hills Community Celebrates “An Evening in Paradise” this Saturday

The community is invited to celebrate “An Evening in Paradise,” family fun event, Saturday, June 8 at Paradise Hills Park - 5801 Paradise Blvd. NW, beginning at 3 p.m.

This is an entire afternoon and evening with food trucks, artisans, informational booths, a zip line, jumpers, face painters, arts and craft vendors, and produce vendors.

  • 3 p.m. - Dedication of the Paradise Hills Basalt Hill Urban Open Space, just west of the community
  • center.
  • 3:30 p.m. - Ribbon-cutting celebrating the completion of major improvements to Paradise Hills Park,
  • 5:30 p.m. District 4 Commissioner Lonnie Talbert will honor this year’s outstanding citizen and sports teams.
  • Dusk - Bernalillo County Movies in the Park will feature “A Wrinkle in Time.”

“We are thrilled to highlight all the new improvements to Paradise Hills Park, including shade and picnic areas for community gatherings, safe crossings for kids from the community center to the park, and much needed additional parking,” says Bernalillo County Commissioner Lonnie Talbert.

Bernalillo County will be honoring this year’s outstanding citizen:

Brenda Baca Mondragon is being honored for her work as a singer, choir director and pianist at various Catholic churches around the Albuquerque area, particularly on the West Side.

In addition, the following area sports teams will be honored:

  • The Volcano Vista Hawks: class 5A state baseball champions.
  • The Paradise Christian School Patriots: Flag Football Champions of the Albuquerque Charter School
  • League.
  • Nine different sports teams from Tony Hillerman Middle School who took first or second place in various city championships.
