District 3

Bernalillo County’s District 3 is mainly within the City of Albuquerque limits.

It runs along the east side of Interstate 25 from the southernmost to the northernmost area of the county. From east to west, District 3 goes from the far Northeast Heights to the University of New Mexico-area neighborhoods; it also includes Nob Hill, Sandia National Laboratories/Kirtland Air Force Base/Albuquerque Sunport, the main campus of Central New Mexico Community College, some of the city’s main retail area near Interstate 40 and Louisiana, and Expo New Mexico.

  • BernCo Parks & Recreation Open Space Department and the University of New Mexico are hosting a community meeting to update plans for UNM North Golf Course. The University has recently received legislative grants to plan, design, and construct additional improvements on the property, and is seeking input and feedback on the updated master plan for the north course and on options for other changes to the Stanford and Yale streetscapes and the area known as the “Barren Fairways.” Comments and suggestions should be sent to county planning manager John Barney at jcbarney@bernco.gov, or by calling 505-314-0404.

National Voter Registration Day, which is being celebrated around the county, is a chance to make sure everyone has the opportunity to vote. Join Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover and staff on Tuesday, Sept. 24 to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Civic Plaza with exhibitors from Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque, CNM, UNM and the Native American Voters Alliance Education Project. Food trucks will also be on hand for this non-partisan voter registration event.
