Steven Michael Quezada is a Screen Actors Guild award-winning actor, producer and comedian with a long record of public service for Bernalillo County children and families. 

He was elected chair of the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners for a one-year term that lasted from Jan. 9, 2018 to Jan. 8, 2019. Commissioner Quezada was elected vice chair of the commission from January 2017 to January 2018.

As a rising star in New Mexico’s thriving film and television industry, Mr. Quezada portrays DEA Agent Steven Gomez on the Emmy Award-winning television series “Breaking Bad,” which concluded its fifth and final season on AMC in 2013. Steven has also appeared in the television shows “The Mindy Project,” “Documentary Now” and “In Plain Sight.”

Mr. Quezada is a life-long resident of New Mexico. He pursued his love of performing by studying theatre arts at Eastern New Mexico University, and has earned the distinction as one of the most charitable celebrities in New Mexico.

Steven has raised money for organizations such as Youth Development Incorporated and countless others. Steven has also worked with the gang intervention, Mi Voz and Elev8 programs through YDI, taught acting to local kids, and educated future filmmakers at the Digital Arts and Technology Academy.

Steven won his first political race in 2013 to earn a seat on the Albuquerque Board of Education. He is married to Cherise Quezada, has four children, and plays golf in his spare time -- however little time that may be.

The La Familia Growers’ Market at Dolores Huerta Park returns for its sixth year. Local growers and independent artisans will be offering their fresh and unique creations each week. A children’s playground, free face painting, food trucks and music will be available throughout the summer. Multiple vendors also accept SNAP, double-up food bucks, and WIC farmers’ market checks.
